Remembering Great Food Moments In The Movies

One of the first movies to prominently make use of a brand product was “Wings” which was released in 1927. The movie promoted Hershey’s chocolate and received the Oscar for Best Picture. Even “soap operas” got their name because they were initially underwritten by companies such as Procter & Gamble who manufacture consumer goods such as Dawn and Cascade soaps.

Here’s our list of favorite movies that promoted a specific brand or type of product:

Godzilla (1998): Prominently featured Taco Bell products in many of its scenes.

Beetlejuice (1988): Displayed Minute Maid juice throughout the movie.

ET: (1982): ET’s stole our hearts with his favorite snack, Reese’s Pieces.

Lady and The Tramp (1955): Their famous spaghetti scene has been recreated in many other movies and shows.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009): The spaghetti (I wonder if they used DeCecco spaghetti?) tornado and Pancake storm looked like a delicious weather wonder!
